The Sans Souci Wien Hotel was established in a historical building erected in 1872, telling a long story. Originally it was the location of the “Zum Großen Zeisig”, the inn that served Johann Strauß for the 1858 premiere of his “Tritsch-Trastch-Polka”. Named Hotel Höller, the establishment was in continuos operation from 1873 to 1953, interrupted only for a short occupation by the US army after World War II.
In August 2010, the Sans Souci Group acquired the establishment and began renovations in October of that year. Particularly, because of its historic origination, the construction work was carried out with special care, ensuring that the original substance would be preserved to maintain the special character and to create the flair of exclusive living.
